About the Pilot Program
Night Ride is a late-night weekend bus and taxi pilot program, intended to operate from 1:30 to 3:30 am Friday and Saturday, with a bus route from Whyte Avenue to the University to Southgate Transit Centre.
The aim is to help patrons and workers of the night-time economy to get home more easily and safely after closing time. The concept of a late-night bus service that takes passengers to taxi stands in the south is intended to free up taxis on Whyte Avenue for northbound patrons.
The pilot will help the City determine issues and opportunities with future late-night transportation options throughout Edmonton.
