Annual General Meeting 2012
The Annual General Meeting of the Queen Alexandra Community League will be held on Tuesday, May 29 at the Queen Alexandra Community Hall. A members appreciation dinner will be held at 6:00 pm, followed by the meeting at 7:00 pm. Childcare will be available for those members with children. Remote Control Toy and Paper Airplane Party
Do you or your kids need more space to drive remote control cars and trucks or fly those helicopters or paper airplanes? Looking for something fun to do on Family Day? Well, start your engines and come to the Queen Alexandra Community League Hall (10425 University Avenue) on February 20, 2-4 pm. Bring your remote control toys (and extras, if you have them, to share with others), and paper for paper airplanes. There will also be ping pong and outdoor skating.

Queen Alexandra currently fields no soccer teams— residents must register their children through WIndsor Park/Garneau. Players must pre-register online; then present payment, proof of membership, and confirmation of online registration at the in-person Windsor-Garneau Combined Registration Day. The Community Building South program of the City of Edmonton's Neighbourhood and Community Development Branch publishes a monthly newsletter called South Notes.
Raise the Rink Roundup & Ping Pong Potluck
It is time to build our community skating rink— come and help raise the rink; try out our awesme table tennis tables; and share in a potluck dinner. Any questions? Please contact Ken at bond [dot] ken [at] gmail [dot] com or 780-432-0807.

Tipton Park Conversation Café #2
Water the focus at September 22 café
The community continued to shape its vision for water at Tipton Park at a Conversation café held at Queen Alexandra hall on September 22. Ideas about water revolved around natural features such as a stream or rock bed with a walking bridge, pathways, benches and gazebo, and spray deck features that would incorporate a natural feel in design and color.

Shaping the Vision of Tipton Park — Online Survey
The wading pool at Tipton Park has been the catalyst to look to creating a master plan for Tipton Park. According to Alberta Health Services, City of Edmonton wading pools do not meet the standard set out in the Pubic Health Act Swimming Pool Regulations. As such all 40 of the neighbourhood wading pools in the City are being retrofitted to spray decks, some standard and some enhanced with community financial support. The final year for conversion is 2012 and Tipton Park water decisions must be made before year end 2011. The surrounding communities are being invited to decide on how water will be represented (or no water). In the process, please consider what is important to you in the whole park be responding to the survey link below. The survey is open until October 9, 2011.
